The Southington Historical Society opens its doors on Saturday, June 20th — free admission at both stops.
Visit the South End School, the 1810 one-room schoolhouse next to Recreation Park, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Then stop by the Southington Historical Society at 239 Main Street from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. — free parking at the library.
Enter the free drawing to win an 1835 edition of Modern Geography — A View of the Present State of the World, the book that made Southington author Jesse Olney famous. The cover is in rough shape, but its 288 pages are what a Southington author's book was teaching students all across the country.
